Exchange that builds confidence and develops character

We are a proud member of the internationally diverse network of 200 like-minded schools in 50 countries on six continents. This provides opportunities for our students to connect and collaborate, and offers world-class programs and experiences, developing global competence, character, and confidence in our students.

We are excited to see our much sought after Round Square experiences resume after COVID-19 impacted us. Our exchange program is gaining momentum with applications in place for 2023 international exchanges along with our regional exchange program. During Term 4 we have three reciprocal exchanges taking place, one international exchange with Christs College, New Zealand and two regional exchanges with Scotch Oakburn College, Tasmania.

Ruby and Zaylee will enjoy a three-week exchange in Tasmania and reflect on what they are looking forward to prior to departure.
“What I am looking forward to most is having a new experience and traveling to Tasmania, I am very excited to meet my host family and go to school in Launceston,” said Year 8 student Ruby.

“On my exchange trip to Tasmania, I am looking forward to meeting new people, learning new things, going to new places and making a lifelong friend. I feel that it is going to be a great opportunity and I am very excited to be a part of it,” said Zaylee also in Year 8.

In 2023 we hope to participate in our inaugural central Australia service trip. This program is a cultural immersion and service-learning program that is designed to deepen students ‘understanding of Indigenous Australia. The 2023 conference schedule has been released and we look forward to taking delegations to these international opportunities.

The conference, service and exchange programs equip our students to be positive, active, and engaged global citizenship and offers them more than academic knowledge and qualifications.

Ultimately, we want our students to understand that whatever road they take or career they enter into, with a spirit of the Round Square IDEALS they can – and should – make a positive difference in the world: They don’t have to wear a backpack and hiking boots to experience adventure; they don’t have to be a doctor to save lives; they don’t have to go on a community service project to help a community in need; they don’t have to run a charity in order to be a compassionate leader. As Kurt Hahn said: There is more in us than we know.

Details for these exchange opportunities are available on the Round Square page.
