Sport

The physical wellbeing of our students is important in assisting them to develop a strong mental wellbeing. We have a strong sports program that includes hotly contested interhouse sports competitions and an extensive offering of courses including Physical Education Studies, Team Sports, Racquet Sports and Aquatics.

We have an inclusive sporting ethos and encourage all students to participate in both a summer and winter sport after School, in addition to the sport they are involved in during School hours. There are two sport models within the School:

  • Club model- this applies to sports that compete outside of school hours in local community sporting organisations.  Students get the opportunity to represent school teams in sports such as cricket, hockey, netball, basketball, girls AFL, rowing, swimming and volleyball. If the school does not have teams in a students’ chosen sport, they can choose to play for their own sports club.
  • School based sports model – students have the opportunity to participate in inter-school competitions in soccer, boys AFL, surfing, touch, tennis, cross country, athletics and swimming.  We also offer an intra-school badminton program.

We regularly compete against other Schools in ACC, IPSHA and SWPSA competitions and have a proud tradition of sending a large contingent of students to the annual Country Week Carnival. The School has a strong swimming program and for the past 20 years, we have supported swimmers who wish to participate in the Rottnest Channel Swim, one of the only Schools to regularly field a team in this unique and inspiring event.

We also provide our students with the opportunity to participate in tours, with football trips to Melbourne, netball tours to Hawaii and Gold Coast and Cricket tours to England some of the recent journeys. We have a proud history of supporting a number of elite sport people in their early journey including cricketers, swimmers, hockey and Australian Rules Football players.

Our School has outstanding sporting fields which consists of a curated turf cricket wicket, two synthetic turf wickets, seven cricket practice nets, a cricket pavilion, a full size AFL football field, two Soccer Fields, three Grass Hockey fields, two indoor multipurpose courts, seven outdoor basketball courts, four tennis courts and a cross country track. Local sport fixtures utilise the grounds and we regularly host State and National competitions.
