English Proficiency

Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School has a high standard of academic excellence and requires overseas students to have a strong grasp of the English language prior to enrolment. Before being offered a place students will be requested to take a test with the Australian Education Assessment Services (AEAS). Students who do not demonstrate the required proficiency will be encouraged to undertake an intensive English course prior to commencement. The student’s level of English ability is the major factor in determining if a place is offered.

Please contact AEAS for testing times and locations.

Boarding at Bunbury Grammar

Unless they are staying with a parent, overseas students are required to reside in the School’s Boarding facilities. This ensures we are able to provide students with the appropriate accommodation, care and guidance while they are far from home. Our Boarding facilities are located within our campus and provide students with easy access to School facilities. Students are transported to after School activities and other required appointments by our Boarding staff.

The Boarding House is closed for mid-term breaks and School holidays. If the student will not travel home for these periods they will be required to notify the School at the commencement of the Term. The School will work with the family to arrange suitable accommodation during these periods. Arrangements for holiday accommodation will attract an additional charge.

Health Cover

All overseas students are required to have Overseas Student Health Cover for the duration of their student visa. This should be arranged by the family with a copy of the policy provided to the School. The School’s qualified nurse visits the Boarding students each day, and students are provided assistance to visit local health centres as required.
