Secondary Scholarships

Each year Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School offers a number of Scholarships for students entering Years 7 to 11. Our Scholarship program is designed to acknowledge academic excellence and to support the diversity of abilities, talents, interests and backgrounds within our community. We aim to recognise students who will make a positive contribution to the Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School community.

Scholarships applications for entry to Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School in 2024 are now closed. Applications for entry in 2025 will open in November 2023.

For students required to sit the Scholarship Test, please note, there is a $100 fee to sit the Scholarship Test, which is paid online when you complete the application. Please see the below for details of the Scholarships and the criteria. Students can apply for more than one Scholarship, but will only be awarded one Scholarship. Scholarships are for remission of 20% to 50% of the Tuition or Boarding fee only, as applicable.

Indigenous Scholarship

This Scholarship is supported by funding through MADALAH. Applications are open to students entering Years 7 to 10 who demonstrate a commitment to pursuing tertiary study.

Scholarship Criteria and Application

Academic Scholarships

Year 7

A number of Academic Scholarships are offered to new and current students who demonstrate outstanding academic ability and are entering Year 7 in 2025.

Years 8 to 11

An Academic Scholarship is awarded to a new or current student entering Years 8 to 11 in 2025 who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement.

Doris Trevena Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a new or current student entering Year 10 or 11 in 2025 who demonstrates strong academic ability and excellence in the area of sport, arts, leadership or community service achieved by personal endeavour, perseverance and commitment.

Old Grammarians Scholarship

Supported by the Old Grammarians’ Association this Scholarship supports a child or grandchild of a past student who is a member of the BCGS Old Grammarian’s Association and who would otherwise not have the opportunity to join our School community.

Boarding Scholarship

Awarded to a current Boarding student or a new student wishing to Board at the School. Students entering Years 7 to 11 are invited to apply.

Grammar Growth Scholarship

This Scholarship is awarded by the School Foundation to a Year 7 and Year 10 student who would otherwise not have the opportunity to join our School community.

Candidates should demonstrate a strong academic aptitude as well as excellence in other areas such as sport, arts, leadership or community service; achieved by personal endeavour, perseverance and commitment.
