The wellbeing of all students is integral to ensuring they flourish while at School. Our Family Boarding Unit is available to allow family members to be closer to their child when this will assist in improving their wellbeing.
The Family Unit is a fully equipped residential cottage with kitchenette, bedding, a family lounge room, bathroom and laundry. Families are welcome to join Boarders for breakfast or dinner in the Cafe, or a takeaway meal can be requested.
The Boarding Family Unit can only be used by parents, or legal guardians of students enrolled at the School. Bookings can be made:
- To reduce travel fatigue. Parents may wish to spend the night rather than travelling back home after being at the School.
- Homesickness. Parents may wish to be closer to support their child if they are suffering from homesickness.
- Parent teacher consultations.
Parents are asked to read the Family Unit Guidelines prior to requesting a booking.
Boarding Family Unit Cost
There is a $50 per night charge. Your stay includes the option to join Boarders for breakfast or dinner in the Cafe, if requested. The unit is primarily for the use of parents/guardians. If there is a need for a dependent sibling to accompany a parent, this must be discussed with the Head of Boarding at the time of booking.
Please note there is a maximum two night stay and this is to be discussed with the Head of Boarding at the time of booking.
How to Book
Families are invited to submit an online booking request. The request will be sent to the Head of Boarding who will contact families to discuss the booking. Please note that families who reside in the Family Unit will be requested to have a valid Working with Children Card (WWC). If you have one, please include the details on the booking request. If you do not have one, the School will provide you with the details on how to apply for one. Parents can apply under the volunteer category, with the cost being $11.00. The WWC cards are valid for three years.
