NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC Week is an important time for celebration and connection, with activities designed to centre Aboriginal voices and perspectives!

The Lishman Library is a space for reading, research and creativity - from our youngest learners in Education and Care through to our almost-graduates preparing for their final exams. It’s a place to settle in, find what you need, find a good book, follow an idea, test a thought and work things through, page by page.
Opening hours throughout the school term are:
Monday to Thursday - 8am to 5pm
Friday - 8am to 4pm

Our Library is brought to life by a team of warm, knowledgeable staff who make it both a calm retreat and a space full of energy. Alongside supporting reading and research, they run writing workshops, host visiting authors and lead creative projects throughout the year - shaping a library that feels welcoming, engaging and quietly alive with ideas.

As a Teacher Librarian at Lishman Library, I am passionate about fostering a lifelong love of reading and literature in students. I am committed to promoting Australian authors, illustrators and stories, while encouraging children to explore a wide range of texts and genres. Through literature, I aim to help students find meaning and see themselves reflected in stories. I also enjoy inspiring young writers to create and share their own stories, nurturing creativity, imagination, and confidence.
Teacher Librarian

Hi, I’m Karen Nicholson. After 18 rewarding years as a library Assistant at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School, I still love witnessing students engage with new stories and watching their imaginations soar. Our library serves as a welcoming sanctuary where children can grow and thrive. Seeing their characterful faces every day is a true joy. In my own time, I am an avid fan of fantasy, mystery, and science fiction, both in literature and on the screen. A book is an adventure waiting to happen.
Library Assistant

My name is Catherine, and I am proud to be a library technician as part of the Lishman Library team. For me, there is truly nothing better than diving into a new book and allowing myself to be transported across a vast variety of genres. The Lishman Library is a wonderful environment in which to work, providing the perfect backdrop for me to assist our students as they discover new materials to help guide, build, and develop their minds and future ambitions.

I'm Rachael and I am a Library Assistant in the Lishman Library, where I enjoy connecting students with books and helping to create a welcoming, inspiring space to read and explore. I have always loved reading, particularly children’s and fantasy literature, as well as British crime and contemporary fiction. I enjoy bringing creativity to the library through eye-catching displays that showcase our wonderful and extensive collection. Outside of work, I love sharing stories with my daughter and spending time with my ever-growing collection of plants.
