Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School is proud to welcome Aboriginal students from communities across Western Australia — from Broome and Paraburdoo to Carnarvon, the Goldfields, Perth and the South West. Each student brings their own story, strengths and cultural identity, and we work in partnership with families to ensure every young person feels safe, respected and supported from their first day with us.
Our School stands on Wardandi Noongar Country. We honour the deep cultural knowledge, histories and languages that shape this place and actively weave cultural learning into daily school life.

Central to this commitment is the role of our Aboriginal Culture and Language Coordinator, Maxine Williams.
Maxine plays a vital role in:
Her work ensures that Indigenous students are known, supported and connected - at school, at home, and on Country.

To support access and opportunity, Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School offers Indigenous scholarships in partnership with MADALAH and AIEF for students entering both day and boarding pathways.
These scholarships aim to:
Families are encouraged to contact our Enrolments Team to explore scholarship availability, eligibility and application timelines.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) guides how we walk together as a school community - with intention, accountability and respect. Developed in consultation with local voices, our RAP outlines clear commitments to building understanding, strengthening relationships and creating culturally safe learning environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
For Indigenous families, our RAP means:
Our RAP is a living document, shaped by reflection, action and partnership.

NAIDOC Week is an important time for celebration, reflection and connection. Indigenous students are invited to see their cultures, histories and achievements recognised and respected across the School. Activities are designed to centre Aboriginal voices and perspectives, while giving all students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Country, culture and community.

Reconciliation Week invites our whole School community to pause, listen and learn. Through age-appropriate learning experiences, shared conversations and moments of reflection, students explore what reconciliation means in practice - and how respect, truth-telling and relationship-building shape our community now and into the future.

Situated in the heart of WA’s South West region, our expansive bushland campus is the ideal setting for young minds to thrive. Book an in-person tour or explore it virtually.
Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School is committed to supporting Indigenous students from Years 7–12 with meaningful educational and boarding opportunities. Our aim is simple: to provide a welcoming, inclusive environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
We are proud to partner with MADALAH and the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF) to offer scholarships that open the door to a Bunbury Grammar education.
