National Reconciliation Week
Our School community will pause, listen and learn, as students explore how respect, truth-telling and relationship-building shape our community.

Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School is proud to welcome Aboriginal students from communities across Western Australia - from Broome and Paraburdoo to Carnarvon, the Goldfields, Perth and the South West.
Each student brings their own story, strengths and cultural identity, and we work in partnership with families to ensure every young person feels safe, respected and supported from their first day with us.

Central to this commitment is the role of our Aboriginal Culture and Language Coordinator, Maxine Williams.
Maxine plays a vital role in building strong cultural connections for students across Primary, Secondary and Boarding, and supporting students to stay proud, grounded and confident in their identity. She guides our staff in culturally responsive practices, contributing to cultural learning programs and whole-School initiatives, and plays a pivotal role in strengthening the important relationships between school, family and Country.

Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School is committed to supporting Indigenous students from Years 7–12 with meaningful educational and boarding opportunities. Our aim is simple: to provide a welcoming, inclusive environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
We are proud to partner with MADALAH and the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF) to offer scholarships that open the door to a Bunbury Grammar education.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) will guide how we walk together as a school community - with intention, accountability and respect. Developed in consultation with local voices, our RAP outlines clear commitments to building understanding, strengthening relationships and creating culturally safe learning environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
For Indigenous families, our RAP will mean a visible and genuine commitment to reconciliation, beyond symbolic moments. It commits to the embedding of Indigenous perspectives across learning, wellbeing and community, to ongoing staff learning that ensure culturally informed, respectful practice, and a school culture that values listening and relationship-building.

Situated in the heart of WA’s South West region, our expansive bushland campus is the ideal setting for young minds to thrive. Book an in-person tour or explore it virtually.
