The OGA is launching a new initiative designed to keep our community connected long after graduation: the Old Grammarians' Alumni Internship Program (OGAIP).
The program links Old Grammarians aged 18 to 25 with paid internship opportunities at businesses run by fellow alumni. For recent graduates, it's a chance to gain genuine industry experience, build a professional network, and take a confident first step into their chosen field. For our alumni in business, it's an opportunity to give back to the school community while bringing fresh energy and talent into their organisation.
How it works
The OGA promotes each internship opportunity to eligible Old Grammarians through its social and email networks, and manages the application process on the host company's behalf. Applicants submit a letter of application and CV, which the OGA forwards to the host company. If needed, the OGA can also assess applications against the host's criteria and provide a shortlist, though the final decision on who to interview and hire always rests with the host company.
Once a host company has chosen their intern, the two parties agree on the terms of the internship directly, including pay and hours. Internships must run for a minimum of 120 hours, worked flexibly to suit both intern and host. Hosts remain responsible for meeting all employment obligations, including minimum legal pay rates, safe workplace conditions, and workers compensation cover, and the OGA checks in partway through each placement to see how things are going.
Get involved
Old Grammarians in business, large or small, are encouraged to apply to become a host company. Applications close Monday 24 August to be part of the program's launch, with intern placements running from December 2026 into 2027, or on a timeline that suits the host.
Host companies will be featured on the OGA page from October.
