National Boarding Week 2026 - Echoes of Home

Our National Boarding Week has been a celebration of the people, connections and community that make Boarding at Bunbury Grammar so special.

Our National Boarding Week has been a celebration of the people, connections and community that make Boarding at Bunbury Grammar so special.

Across the week, our boarders came together for formal dinners, wellbeing activities, a lunch with staff, morning tea with Mr O'Brien, hoodie days and, of course, the annual tractor pull! Each activity reflected this year’s theme, Echoes of Home, and the sense of belonging that sits at the heart of our boarding community.

Our Principal Matthew O’Brien reflected on the unique contribution boarding makes to the life of the School, reminding students that “community does not happen by accident. It is built through people contributing, participating, and looking out for each other.”

Head Boarder Emily Davies also spoke beautifully about the experience of living away from home, sharing that Boarding students “bring with us those pieces of our families and what is truly important to us - our echoes from home.”

Thank you to our Boarding students for the energy you bring to our School community every day. And our Boarders want to ensure that a light is shone on the Gappies, their bus drivers, and all their supervisors - as Emily shared, "your kindness, support and effort does not go unnoticed."
