This morning, we were delighted to present the awards from our 2026 Secondary School Athletics Carnival and to recognise the many outstanding performances and achievements from across the day.
The Carnival was a wonderful demonstration of school spirit, with students competing with energy, determination and enthusiasm, while also encouraging and supporting one another. It was particularly pleasing to see such strong levels of participation across all four Houses. Congratulations to Knight House, who were awarded the Participation Cup, and to Goldsmith House, who secured the Winning House Shield for 2026.
Our Champion and Runner-Up athletes were also presented with their medals, and we celebrated an outstanding individual achievement by Year 7 student George Cowan, who broke the 1500m record, which had stood since 2015.
A very big thank you to the many parents, grandparents and friends who joined us to support our students - your presence added greatly to the atmosphere of the day! We also want to acknowledge our Grounds Staff and Health and Physical Education staff for the considerable work involved in preparing for and running such a significant event.
Most importantly, congratulations to our students. Their enthusiasm, resilience, sportsmanship and House spirit were the real highlights of the Carnival and made the day one of which we can all be very proud!
