Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School is pleased to introduce Mr Justin Forbes, our new Head of Boarding.
“As a family, we have numerous connections to the South West. I am looking forward to new people, connections and challenges,” said Mr Forbes.
Mr Forbes has been teaching for the past 18 years. He has held positions as Head of Department and Head of House. Additionally, he spent three years in boarding at Hale School, Perth. Mr Forbes looks forward to returning to a boarding role.
“I view a positive boarding community as the backbone of a school.
“I see my main focus as continuing the good standing of boarding at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School as well as providing a safe and dynamic environment for the boarders in a community underpinned by trust,” said Mr Forbes.
As a teenager, Mr Forbes worked many school holidays at a farm in Kulin. He worked with sheep and drove headers during harvest. Similarly, his wife Sharon was born and raised in Manjimup.
“My family have enjoyed being part of a boarding community, particularly my wife, and I know the boarders will warm to her very quickly.
“I really like the campus at Bunbury and the rural feel. I am looking forward to my daughters making the most of the opportunities that come their way,” said Mr Forbes.
Mr Forbes and his wife are keen to settle into a regional area. In particular, they look forward to supporting rural students in their pursuit of excellence.
“From a management perspective I will be working to make our facilities more contemporary whilst setting up boarding at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School as a highly-regarded option for the next 20 years,” said Mr Forbes.
The School looks forward to welcoming Mr Forbes and his family, and wish them a wonderful first year as they settle into our School.
