Student Achievements – Term 3, 2018

Student Achievement Term 3

Our students continually achieve excellent results in a range of academic, sporting and co-curricular pursuits both within and outside of the School. Read a snapshot of student achievements during Term 2:


In the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools Charlotte Rawlinson (Year 4) received a High Distinction in English. Luka Good (Year 4), Finn Harrison (Year 4), James Underdown (Year 4), Phelan Sabel (Year 2) and Ian du Plessis (Year 2) received a Distinction in English.

Tara Anderson (Year 9), Thomas McGregor (Year 10) and Aditi Arun (Year 10) each won a medal in the ICAS English Writing Competition. This means these students ranked within the top 1% of the Australian participants.


Emily Graham (Year 12) was in the top ten finalists in the Alliance Française Year 12 competition and was invited to a verbal interview.


Henry Coates (Year 6) received a High Distinction and Cooper Reynolds (Year 6) received a Distinction for the Australian Maths Competition. Henry and Cooper also both received a Distinction for the MCYA Maths Competition for Young Australians.

A number of students were recognised in the Year 7 Mathematics Talent Quest. Lara Lewis (Year 7) and Alan McGregor (Year 7) were commended on the quality of their projects. Soham Saini (Year 7) was awarded a Credit for his excellent project while Samuel Mitenko (Year 7) won a Distinction with the judges describing it as “a great little Scratch program, showing understanding of the mathematics of probability”. Mae Pittick (Year 7) had her project recommended for judging in the National competition.

Jamie McGregor (Year 12) has won a prize for the Australian Mathematics Completion. This is the third time Jamie has achieved such an outstanding result, which places him as one of the top few mathematicians in the state.


Henry Coates (Year 6) won the South West Spaghetti Bridge competition.

Luke Paoliello (Year 11) has been selected to attend the National Youth Science Forum in 2019.


Jessica Taylor (Year 8) has been selected to represent Western Australia in the 2018 Cross Country team, competing at the School Sport Australia National Championships in Brisbane at the end of August.


Milla Vukelic (Year 2) and her horse, Flirt, received a number of awards in the State Dressage Championships.


Jonah Lincoln (Year 7), Charlie Johnston (Year 7) and Emma Stegmann (Year 7) were selected to represent State Under 13 hockey teams.


Caitlin Shaw (Year 12) received the Rio Tinto Promise Award at the Western Australian Robocup State finals.


Kathleen Ryan (Year 7) won the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club Mixed Fleet Junior Winter Championship.
