Last Sunday, students gathered Koombana Bay Beach in Bunbury on a lovely sunny morning to compete in the inaugural Interhouse Open Water Relay Swim. The day was buzzing with excitement as teachers, family and friends cheered the swimmers on.
The open water swim event provided students with experience in open water swimming. It was also a great opportunity for them to test their swimming skills in these conditions in preparation for the South 32 Rottnest Channel Swim.
The 800 metre competition was very close, but Redding House who led the way from the start was victorious for the girls’ category, whereas for the boys’ category, Wilson House came up on top.
Ariane Diggins (Year 7) had the fastest swim time among the girls of 12 minutes and 57 seconds, while Samuel Ellis (Year 11) had the fastest boys’ time of 12 minutes and 34 seconds.
Great job to all the swimmers!
