The School employs a full-time Counsellor in the Secondary School and a part-time Counsellor in the Primary School who work as part of our pastoral care team to support the wellbeing of all students in our School. Both Counsellors are registered psychologists and appointments are treated as confidential and usually occur during school hours.
Normally, students are referred to meet with the Counsellor by either their Head of House or Classroom Teacher, and we encourage you to contact them to discuss any problems your child may be having. Parents are also encouraged to contact the Counsellor should they have any concerns regarding their child's welfare.
School Counsellor - Dr Justin Harrison
Dr Harrison works as part of our Pastoral Care team to support the wellbeing of all students in our School. Students can seek support for any issue they may be struggling with or just to look at ways they can improve their performance in a particular area. Services include counselling and parent support and information, including helpful weblinks available at the Kids Matter Corner webpage. A range of strategies are used to address areas including - but not limited to - depression, anxiety, self-esteem, behavioural issues, anger management and grief. This may be directly to the student and/or through supporting the parent in assisting their children through these difficulties.
Secondary students can make an appointment in person at Dr Harrison's office in V Block before school, during Home Group or at recess, or by emailing email@example.com. Primary students can access the School Counsellor by liaising with their teacher or by making contact through their parent/guardian. Please contact Primary Administration on (08) 9722 6001 or email Dr Harrison.
