Student Achievements Term 3
Dee-Jay Hands (Year 12) and Zali Spencer (Year 12 Boarder) were the only two selected from WA for the Australian Under 21 Country Women’s Hockey team.
Louis Tunstill (Year 11), Sari Wootton (Year 8), Fletcher Wetherell (Year 6) and Charlie Johnston (Year 6) were selected for their respective WA State Hockey teams.
A number of students performed well in the local Hockey competitions - read the individual and team results for the Bunbury Districts Hockey Club 2017 season.
Luke Brothers (Year 9) was selected for the Under 14s state Soccer team.
Jye Jensen (Year 10) was selected for the state Swimming team.
Samuel Ellis (Year 8) has been selected by School Sports WA to represent WA at the Pacific School Games in Swimming.
Santina Pillonel (Year 5) and Joshua Fowler (Year 7) were selected for the WA Cross Country team competing in Hobart.
Annika Keall (Year 11) and Samantha Blackham (Year 10) won silver in the CMAS Underwater Hockey Junior World Championships in July as part of the Australian Women’s under 19 team.
Emilia Forrest (Year 11) has been selected to represent WA at the 2017 Interschool Equestrian Championships in Queensland.

Jessica Repacholi (Year 11) was named in the inaugural West Coast Fever Academy, as well as being awarded West Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) Scholarships.
Kate Mellett (Year 12) has successfully secured a Lattitude placement for 2018 in Japan.
Claudia Waddingham (Year 8) won a Prize in the Australian Mathematics Competition (one Prize is awarded for every 300 students within a particular area). Jamie McGregor (Year 11) and Tom Coates (Year 8) were also awarded High Distinctions, placing them in the top 3% of their year group. Jamie McGregor was also accepted into the National Maths Summer School held at ANU in January.
Year 11 students Juliet Kerell-Vaughan and Jamie McGregor were selected to attend the National Youth Science Forum in January next year.
Two Secondary teams made it the national RoboCup finals in Brisbane after an impressive effort at the state finals. Read more.
Connor Castledine (Year 12) has been offered an electrical apprenticeship with Apex Electrical Control once he graduates. Connor is currently completed a Certificate II in Electro-technology as part of his Year 12 courses at BCGS and completed work experience with AEC.
Year 10 students Lily Roberts and Joanna Otter were state finalists in the Just Start It competition, which they entered as part of their Year 10 Business studies at BCGS. Their Gunkies app also made them finalists for WA Innovation Awards.
Jamie Brown (Year 12), Jaxton Kidd (Year 12), Jamie McGregor (Year 12), Caitlin Shaw (Year 11), Halle Mitchell (Year 9), Alex Tombleson (Year 9), Bree Stafford (Year 9) and Aditi Arun (Year 9) represented BCGS at the Australasian Philosothon at St Andrews Cathedral School in Sydney during the Term 3 school holidays.
Amber Anderson Head Girl and Boarding student was awarded the 2017 Zonta Club of Bunbury Young Women in Public Affairs Award. Read more about Amber's award.
