Congratulations to the Class of 2017 who have excelled in the Australian Tertiary Admissions Rankings (ATAR) results.

Three students achieved 99 or higher with the highest score being 99.8 from the School. The median ATAR for the School was 85, ranking 31 on the Top 50 Median ATAR.

Head of Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School, Mr Michael Giles, said that students should be very proud of their excellent results.

“It was fantastic to have 100 per cent graduation for the tenth consecutive year. This is a testament to the hard work students and staff put in throughout the year,” Mr Giles said.

“Eight of our students achieved 98 or above and 35 per cent of the cohort achieved an ATAR over 90.

“It was great to see our vocational students also producing excellent results. All of our students graduated with certificates in their chosen field of study, and many have since commenced apprenticeships or secured jobs in their chosen career.

“These results are a product of an aspiring peer group, supportive parents and excellent teachers.

“Eighty is the benchmark ATAR score that students generally want to achieve above because it provides access to all universities…. 60 per cent of our students surpassed this mark.”

Peter Goddard, who achieved 99.8, was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Physics. Our students also achieved 18 Merit and 16 Distinction Awards.

The School was named as a Course Leader in:

  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Maths Methods
  • Modern History
  • Human Biology
