The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time – Secondary Production
Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School are proud to present our rendition of the award-winning play, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, adapted by Simon Stephens and based on the novel by Mark Haddon.
Christopher, fifteen years old, stands beside Mrs Shears’ dead dog. It has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight, and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington. He has an extraordinary brain and is exceptional at math, but he is ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road; he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But Christopher’s determined detective work – forbidden by his father – takes him on a thrilling journey that turns his world upside-down…
Winner of five Tony Awards and seven Olivier Awards, including Best Play for both, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time has only just become available for performance outside its smash hit Broadway run, and Bunbury Grammar will be one of the first schools in Australia to perform it. The character of Christopher will be performed by 11 different actors, who will each bring their own unique perspective to help the tale evolve to its thrilling conclusion.
