Secondary drama performance: Suri’s Wall

The Secondary students will be presenting a drama performance on Thursday 18, Friday 19 and Saturday 20 August in the Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School Auditorium. Suri’s Wall is based on the fictional book written by Lucy Estela and illustrated by Matt Ottley. The book is a moving and powerful story that covers the issues around being different, loneliness, friendship and encompasses more universal themes of displacement by war and the power of the human spirit.

Suri’s Wall is a story about a young girl who is ostracised by the other children as she is much taller, and therefore different, than them. But Suri’s height gives her the advantage of seeing over the large wall protecting the town. Soon, the children befriend Suri, as she tells them wonderful stories of the sights beyond the wall. Yet Suri faces a difficult moral dilemma. This is a play with two endings. Each night, the audience will choose how the performance will end. You decide what happens to Suri. The responsibility is yours. How will you decide?

This will be a 40 minute performance, with tickets are $10 each and can be purchased here.
