Challenge & Extension

At Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School, we believe an individualised approach to learning is crucial. Our well resourced and strategically structured Challenge and Extension programme enables gifted students to develop their talents and abilities to their full potential. We have dedicated staff in both the Primary and the Secondary School who actively identify students, develop programmes for differentiation and spend time working with students.

Through the provision of challenging extension opportunities which reflect current best practice in the education of gifted learners, we take a Kindergarten to Year 12 approach focusing on the needs of gifted students at different phases of education. Students' progress is regularly evaluated and students identified for a range of opportunities. Classroom based activities are enhanced by involvement in nationally and internationally recognised programmes and co-curricular activities which allow like-minded students to work together and extend their interests. For more information, see the Challenge and Extension document below.
