Light shines bright on class of 2016

Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School’s Class of 2016 students have excelled in their recent WACE examinations with what is now our ninth consecutive year of achieving 100% graduation. The School was one of only 16 across the state to achieve this.

An incredible 92 per cent of students achieved an ATAR, with 54 per cent achieving a score 80 or above, with the median ATAR being 82.

Mr Mike Giles, Head of School stated, “It is wonderful that so many of our students are able to receive an ATAR. This provides them more options once they have graduated and a wonderful sense of achievement.”

The School’s Vocational students have also excelled in their studies which has helped them all secure employment after graduation. The School wishes them well as they embrace apprenticeships, job offers and further study opportunities.

“The School’s mission is to provide excellence in all-round education within a unique environment to enable all students to achieve their full potential. Students are encouraged to aim high academically but also to participate in a diverse range of activities, including performing art productions, music ensembles, academic competitions and extension, sporting teams, camps and international exchange,” Mr Giles said.

Feedback from students is that what they valued the most about their time at high school is the friendships they made, the opportunity to grow and develop character strengths and resilience plus the many and varied experiences they had along the way.

The Class of 2016 will be remembered for not only their final results, but as young men and women who have contributed greatly through leadership, sporting, co-curricular and community opportunities at our School. We have seen them flourish into fine members of our School community and we wish them all the best for their future endeavours.
